Attorney Ashanté Travis

Ashanté Travis has been practicing law since 2019 and represents clients in matters involving divorce, child custody and support, parentage, and guardianship. She combines practical insight with a straightforward approach, helping clients navigate emotionally charged situations with clarity and confidence.

Before joining January Family Law, Ashanté gained extensive experience handling complex domestic relations, probate, real estate, and civil litigation matters throughout Cook County and the surrounding areas. She has appeared in court daily, managed a high-volume caseload, and negotiated favorable outcomes in both contested and cooperative family law cases. Her diverse background in estate planning, litigation, real estate, and client advocacy allows her to approach each case with strategic precision and a balanced understanding of both the legal and personal dynamics involved.

Ashanté earned her Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, magna cum laude, from Hampton University. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
